Sunil Krishnan

Research in the Krishnan Nanotechnology and Radiation Biology Laboratory at the
Center for Translational Cancer Research in the Institute of Molecular Medicine and in
the Neurosurgery Department in McGovern Medical School focuses on strategies to (i)
sensitize tumors to radiation therapy using nanoparticles, chemotherapy, botanicals,
immunotherapy, and novel radiation techniques and (ii) protect normal tissues from
radiation injury using novel agents. Translational cancer research activities relate to
identification of molecular and radiographic biomarkers that predict treatment response.
Current research is funded by multiple NIH grants.
