Bio
Tyler W. Abrams received the B.S. degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, in 2009, with a focus on X-ray spectroscopy on the Alcator C-Mod tokamak, and the master’s and Ph.D. degrees in astrophysical sciences from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA, in 2012 and 2015, respectively, with a focus on temperature-dependent lithium sputtering in divertor plasma simulators.
He is currently a Research Scientist with General Atomics, San Diego, CA, USA. His current research interests include low-
$Z$
and high-
$Z$
plasma–material interactions and scrape-off-layer impurity transport, with a particular focus on edge-localized mode effects.
