The use of Aortic Balloon Occlusion (ABO) or REBOA for bleeding control in iatrogenic trauma, Post-partum bleeding and trauma is increasing. This is just a small part of the EVTM (EndoVascular resuscitation and Trauma Management). We work on several projects evaluating the effect of the balloon in humans and animal models. We concentrate on the femoral access in trauma as this is what we call the "life line" in the endovascular trauma managment. Extensive laboratory and clinical research is ongoing, as well as the ABOTrauma registry together with other centers. ABO/REBOA and other tools of endovascular resuscitation are being investigated as part of the EVTM program.
