I received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Goias in 2007. In February 2007, I was a research fellow at the Investigation Center of Computational Methods, Santa Fe, Argentina, where I developed non-linear numerical methods for problems in solid mechanics. In 2008, I received an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlandia, Uberlandia-MG, Brazil. In 2008-2010, I worked with the Combinatorial Optimization Group at the Institute of Computing, University of Campinas, Campinas-SP, Brazil, on exact and heuristic methods for cutting and packing problems for my doctorate. I am author/coauthor of more than 20 peer-reviewed conference and journal papers in the areas of operations research in which four papers received the best paper award.
