Vassilis Katsouros (Member, IEEE) received the M.Eng. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1992, the M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in communications and signal processing from the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, University of London, London, U.K., in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree in mathematical modelling and stochastic control from the Imperial College, London, in 1997. Since 1998, he has been with the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, as the Head of the Quality Assurance Office during 1999 to 2003. In 2004, he was elected as a Researcher with the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, promoted to a Senior Researcher, in 2008, and since 2015, he has been the Researcher Director. Since 2019, he has been the Director of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, Athena Research Center. His research interests include signal processing, probability and statistics, image and audio processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning. He is a member of the ACM.
