Bio
Her research has since been focused on developing nanostructured scaffolds to engineer the growth of neuronal cells. Dr Gautam has an experience of experimental techniques in both materials science and neuroscience. She is interested in studying the interaction of neuronal cells with various kinds of organic and inorganic materials for applications in neural tissue engineering and neuro prosthesis. She is also involved in a multi-institution project focused on understanding dementia by developing novel technologies to study brain organoids. Along with her research, Dr Gautam is passionate about science communication. She has constantly been involved in public outreach and has been recognized for her efforts by various awards (ACT Young Tall Poppy 2018, Falling Walls Lab winner 2017).
