Xiaoran Liu's research focuses on diet and lifestyle intervention to prevent cardiometabolic disease. She is a Fellow of American Heart Association. Her work from human clinical trials and epidemiological studies demonstrated the importance of quality of dietary fat in the prevention of obesity. These findings contribute to the shaping of dietary recommendations with an emphasis on food-based dietary patterns and facilitate the translation of what constitutes a healthful dietary pattern to the public.
