Yang Yang received the best paper award at the 25th ACM International Conference on Multimedia, the World's FIRST 10K Best Paper Award – Platinum Award from the 18th IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo, the best student paper award from the 21st ACM International Conference on Multimedia, the best paper award honorable mention at ACM SIGIR 2016, the best paper award at Australasian Database Conference 2017, the best paper award from the 14th International Conference on Web Information Systems Engineering, and the best paper runner-up award from the 21st International Conference on MultiMedia Modeling. His research interests include multimedia retrieval, social media analysis, and machine learning. Till now, Prof. Yang has published over 200 papers at top international journals and conferences. He served as the chair of the ACM Multimedia 2021 program committee. In 2022, Yang Yang won the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Natural Science Award, which is the Highest Award of China Intelligent Science and Technology.
