Bio
Dr. Yaoguang Ma is a Professor in the College of Optical Science and Engineering directing the NanoOptics Group at Zhejiang University. He is also selected by the 1000 talent program for young researchers abroad. Dr. Ma received his Ph.D. degree focusing on Nanophotonic devices with Prof. Limin Tong in College of Optical Science and Engineering from ZJU in June 2012. After that, he has been postdoc researchers at Peking University, UCSD, and CU Boulder. Since January 2018, he started his faculty career as a tenure-track Professor at ZJU.
His research interests are in the fundamentals of nanoscale light-matter interactions and the advanced applications of micro/nanotechnologies in photonic, electronic, and energy systems. Dr. Yaoguang Ma has published more than 20 journal papers, delivered ~10 invited seminars and is associated with >20 invited and contributed conference talks and posters that garnered numerous best paper/presentation/poster awards.
His notable contributions include laying out the innovative metamaterial structural designs for the hybrid random metamaterials for radiative cooling and developing novel scalable Nano-manufactured method for 300-mm-wide metamaterial thin film, the first experimental demonstration of the scalable-manufactured highly efficient radiative cooling technology. His research work and accomplishments have been reported and highlighted by various media channels, including Science, Nature, Nature Photonics, the Forbes, Economists, Scientific American, etc.
Dr. Ma regularly serves as a referee or a panelist for about 20 prestigious academic journals including Advanced Materials, Laser & Photonics Review, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Express, Optics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Semiconductor Science and Technology, Journal of Optics, Journal of the Optical Society of America B, Applied Optics, Optics Communications, AIP Advances, Applied Physics A, Journal of Renewable and Sustainable energy etc.
