I am excited to announce that I will be joining the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at University of California San Diego in the summer of 2020 as an assistant professor (See this news article on applied mathematics in the era of data science). I am seeking postdocs and graduate students with strong backgrounds and interests.
I am currently a visiting faculty at Google Brain Health and Google Research.
Previously, I was a post-doctoral fellow at UC Berkeley, hosted by Michael I. Jordan. I completed my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at University of Washington, working with Emily B. Fox and Hong Qian. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Computer Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
My current research is mainly focused on scalable inference methods and their theoretical guarantees. I have been designing new Bayesian inference algorithms (with a focus on applying them to time series data) and am currently deriving computational and statistical guarantees for them.
