Yuji Iwahori received B.S. degree from Dept. of Computer Science, Nagoya Institute of Technology, M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree from the Dept. of Electrical and Electronics, Tokyo Institute of Technology in1985 and 1988, respectively. He joined Educational Centre for Information Processing, Nagoya Institute of Technology as a research associate in 1988 and he became a professor of Centre for Information and Media Studies, Nagoya Institute of Technology in 2002. He has joined Chubu University as a professor since 2004 and he is currently the head of Graduate Program of Computer Science, Chubu University, Japan. In the meanwhile, he has been a visiting researcher of UBC Computer Science, Canada since 1991. He has also been a research collaborator with IIT Guwahati since 2010 and that with Dept. of Computer Engineering, Chulalongkorn University since 2014. His research interests include Computer Vision, Image Recognition, Neural Network and Application of Artificial Intelligence. He got KES 2008 Best Paper Award and KES 2013 Best Paper Award from KES International. He served a keynote speaker at KES 2017.

His recent research topics include computer vision and machine learning, especially shape from shading, photometric stereo, medical imaging for endoscope, motion tracking with moving object detection, pattern classification and neural network etc. He is also program committee memer of international conferences, KES, KES IDT, IEEE ACIS/ICIS, ICPRAM, NCTA, IEEE BIBE, SITIS, PATTERNS, SIGNALS and so on with reviewers of some kinds of journal papers.
