Yunfei Zhang

Yunfei Zhang is currently the Director of the Tencent Future Network Laboratory, Beijing, China, and the Chief Scientist of Tencent Smart Transport, Shenzhen, China. He is also the National Expert of the Ten Thousand Talents Program and also an Adjunct Professor with Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, and Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai. He has published more than 40 articles in international journals and conferences and more than 300 patents in the fields of cloud computing, distributed systems, streaming media, the Internet of Vehicles, and mobile phone. He served as an International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) Editor, led the first 3GPP standard team in Chinese smartphone vendors, and issued more than ten international standards, such as Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and ITU-T. Dr. Zhang was a member of the Committee on Academic Affairs, the Committee on Internet of Vehicles in CIC, and a member of the National IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group Expert Group. He won two National Patent Awards, the National Standard Award, the First Prize for Shanghai Technology Invention, the First Prize for progress in Shenzhen Science and Technology, the Second Prize for Technology Invention of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the Man of the Year Award in the Internet of Vehicles in China (Greater Bay Area). He is also the Vice Director of 5GAIA. He served as the IEEE GLOBECOM 2019 Keynote Speech Session and ICC 2019 Forum Co-Chair. He has rich experience in internet and wireless standards, established and chaired the working group of P2P streaming media protocol (PPSP) in IETF.
