Estimates of the energy of the most intense extensive air shower observed at the Yakutsk EAS array

New estimates of the energy of the most intense extensive air shower observed at the Yakutsk EAS array have been obtained by an original method using the CORSIKA 6.616 code and GEANT4 particle transport toolkit in the framework of the QGSJET2 and GHEISHA 2002 models. These estimates are E similar to 2 x 10(20) and 1.7 x 1020 eV for the primary protons and iron nuclei, respectively. A discrepancy is observed between the energy estimates from the data of the fluorescence detectors and shower-particle detectors.
