摘要
The time-of-flight facility used for the measurement of neutron spectra from (p,n) reactions in conjunction with the Rutherford Laboratory 50 MeV proton linear accelerator is described. The energy of neutrons in the range 5 to 50 MeV produced in (p,n) reactions by 30 or 50 MeV protons can be measured over the angular range from 0° to 80° in 5° steps with an additional position available at 2°. A 10 m flight path is used which together with a typical time resolution of 1.2 nsec (fwhm) gives an overall energy resolution of 1.2 MeV for 50 MeV neutrons and 0.55 MeV for 30 MeV neutrons.
