Recent researches have reported that the ventricular fibrillation ECG signals transformed by the various signal-processing algorithms are highly related to the coronary perfusion in fibrillated heart. For the purpose of coronary perfusion estimation analyzing ventricular fibrillation ECG signal in percutaneous CPB treatment, we performed animal tests. Porcine ventricular fibrillation models were prepared, ECG signals measured by patient monitor were recorded in PC through A/D converter. To perfuse the coronary artery with oxygenated blood, the percutaneous CPB systems were used. The ventricular fibrillation ECG signals were transformed into the coronary perfusion estimation values via several signal-processing algorithms. The results showed that the coronary perfusion effect based on percutaneous CPB pump was estimated using analysis of ventricular fibrillation ECG signal. We expected the values obtained from ECG signal could be used for the development of non-invasive coronary perfusion monitor and intelligent defibrillator.
