Broadband infrared detectors on the basis of PATGS/Pt(IV) single crystals

Single crystals of triglycine sulfate (TGS) doped with D-phenylalanine and with Pt(IV) ions (PATGS/Pt(IV)) were grown from aqueous solution by means of the slow cooling method. On the samples prepared from 〈110〉 and 11¯0 growth pyramids we measured the relevant physical properties, in particular: spontaneous polarization Ps, values of coercive field Ec, internal electrical field Eb, dielectric permittivity ɛr, dielectric losses tanδ and hysteresis loops. The first series of pyroelectric detectors were prepared from these materials; their fundamental parameters are presented.
