Effect of various factors on temperature stability of the production flow of molten glass

One of the ways of attaining this goal is maximum stabilization of the temperature of the metal arriving for forming. The effect of variability of the enthalpy of the metal on glass production was investigated earlier [1]. In this article we will examine the causes of disturbance of temperature stability of the metal in time. A detailed study of this problem became possible after equipping the vertical glass-drawing tank furnaces with stationary thermocouples in the gas atmosphere and in the metal, which were installed through holes in the bottom and in the side walls of the tank. A generalized scheme of the arrangement of the thermocouples that served as the information sources for this article is shown in Fig. 1.*
