Identification Of W Bosons In Pbarp Collisions

We study the decay lepton distribution of W bosons produced in high-energy p p collisions, p p → W ± X →ℓ ± X . Using an impact parameter formalism to sum the leading double logarithms, we calculate the transverse momentum ( Q T ) distribution of the W at small values of Q T , which is the kinematic region which dominates the lepton distribution. O( α s ) calculations are unable to address this problem. We present the lepton transverse momentum distribution for p p collider energies of s = 540 GeV and 2 TeV .
