Analysis of Land Use Change and Effects on Eco-environment in Shantou City

With six districts and one county in Shantou City as study area,taking 2003 and 2007 remote sensing image as data source,the data of land use type was extracted from it. The speed and level variation of land use types were analyzed. At the same time,the quality of the ecological environment and the dynamic changes were evaluated. The results showed that the cultivated area continued to decline,then the expansion speed of construction is too fast,especially the residential and industrial areas. Due to the importance of the ecological environment,Shantou City’s eco-environment quality was improved obviously. However,eco-environment quality was also declined in some region.
