P-76: Laparoscopic Conversion of Vertical Banded Gastroplasty to Gastric Bypass Can Be Performed Safely in Patients over Age 60

Vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG) is associated with a significant re-operation rate for complications, most commonly weight regain and reflux. For these patients, conversion to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) has been shown to be beneficial. We reviewed our results of patients over 60 years of age who underwent laparoscopic revision of VBG to RYGB.
