Process Improvement on the Synthesis of t-Butylcalix[8] arene Ester Derivatives and Their Extraction Performance for Ester Catechins

A series of t-butylcalix[8]arene ester derivatives(2a~2e) were synthesized using acyl chlorides as acetylating reagents,using triethylamine as a catalyst and an acid binding agent. The structures were characterized by 1H NMR,IR and elemental analysis. Distribution behaviors of ester catechins monomers were investigated using 2 as an extractant in two-phase system of dichloromethane-water. The experimental results showed that 2e was the best extractant.
