New Spinel-Based Manganites Used in Thick-Film NTC Thermistors

The chemical-technological possibilities to obtain the new thick-film NTC thermistors based on mixed transition-metal manganites CuMn2O4-NiMn2O4-MnCo2O4 with a spinel structure are presented at the example of Co-enriched specimen of the-above chemical system. The prepared thick-film samples showed a good morphology, high density and smooth surface. Only spinel phase was revealed using X-ray diffraction method. The degradation of electrical parameters under the influence of temperature was investigated. It is concluded that ageing mechanism of thick-film NTC thermistor elements is related to incomplete formation of intergranular boundaries at low annealing temperatures.
