A simple and effective process for Ba3La2Ti2Nb2O15 microwave ceramics

Ba3La2Ti2Nb2O15 (BLTN) microwave ceramics prepared by a simple and effective reaction-sintering process were investigated. Without any calcinations involved, the mixture of BaCO3, La2O3, TiO2 and Nb2O5 was pressed and sintered directly. BLTN ceramics could be obtained after 2–6h sintering at 1400–1470°C. A density 6.21g/cm3 (99% of theoretical value) was obtained in BLTN for 6h sintering at 1450°C. BLTN ceramics with ɛr=51.5–54.5 and τf<15ppm/°C could be prepared by the reaction-sintering process.
