摘要
New Cu- and Ni-based bulk glassy alloys with-a large supercooled liquid region of 50 to 65 K before crystallization were formed in metal-metal type systems such as Cu-Zr-Ti-Y, Cu-Zr-Ti-Be and Ni-Nb-Zr-Ti alloys. Their maximum diameters were more than 5 mm for the Cu-based alloys and 3 mm,for the Ni-based alloys. These bulk glassy alloys exhibited high tensile strength reaching 2500 MPa and 2700 MPa, respectively. In addition, the highest compressive fracture strength and plastic elongation values were 2520 MPa and 1.0%, respectively, for the former alloy and 3085 MPa and 1.8%, respectively, for the latter alloy. The findings of the new bulk glassy alloys exhibiting simultaneously high bulk glass-forming ability, large supercooled liquid region, high strength exceeding 2500 MPa and good ductility are encouraging for future progress as a new type of high-strength;structural materials.
