A Quartz Micro Balance For Measuring The Kinetics Of Guest Uptake From The Vapour

The design of a multiple probe quartz microbalance (QMB) for the study of guest-uptake in inclusion compounds is reported. The kinetics of inclusion of 1,3-dioxolane by 9,10-dihydroxy-9,10-diphenyl-9,10-dihydroanthracene is reported as an example of the use of this apparatus in the study of guest uptake from the vapour, under controlled temperature and pressure.
