416: Adverse Event (AE) Rates in Patients Receiving Pulsatile VAD's: Incidence and Composition Change Dramatically 3 Months after Implant

Adverse events(AEs) after VAD implantation have been reported in previous studies but they are limited by lack of standard definitions. The INTERMACS Registry facilitates examination of adjudicated AEs with standard definitions adopted by both the FDA and Industry. We examined the incidence and characterization of AEs occurring before and after 90 days post-implantation to provide a contemporary assessment of risk.
