ACM 2009 International Conference on Supporting Group Work(2009)
摘要
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to GROUP 2009. This year's conference continues its tradition of being an international conference that offers a venue for research bridging the fields of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Information Systems (IS), with a continued focus on collaboration and organization and increasing attention to Social Computing. We find ourselves once again on lovely Sanibel Island, but this time we are enjoying the weather in May instead of November. To accommodate changes in the timing of CSCW, the Group community decided to reconvene only 18 months after our last meeting. This provided many scheduling challenges but we are very pleased with the demonstrated commitment to Group of the many people who submitted papers and reviewed them, and to those of you who could join us at the conference. We could not be here without your willingness to submit, review and meet "off season" for Group this year. (We'll convene again in November, 2010.) The call for papers attracted 110 submissions from Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America. The program committee accepted 35 Papers and 5 Notes that cover a variety of topics, including collaborative tools and technologies, computer mediated communication, and social software. In addition to three pre-conference workshops, we are able to host the second Doctoral Consortium at Group, with generous funding from the National Science Foundation, bringing together 14 advanced PhD students for a full-day workshop with leading researchers in our field. During the poster session you will be able to see what these students are working on, and you will find posters from other researchers in academia and industry whom we have invited to present at Group as well.
