524. Adenovirus-Mediated Gene Delivery of Decoy Death Receptors Protects Mice from Hepatitis

Death receptors are involved in various diseases such as hepatitis, sepsis or graft rejection. Neutralizing antibodies against apoptotic ligands or soluble death receptors are currently used to inhibit apoptosis but side effects due to their systemic action can be encountered. Therefore, to specifically restrict the inhibition of death signaling to target cells, we have developped a strategy based on membrane-anchored death receptors lacking death domains (DD).
