Performance of RPC with low-resistive silicate glass electrodes exposed to an intense continuous electron beam
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment(2007)
摘要
Four-gap resistive plate chamber (RPC) prototypes with silicate glass electrodes (bulk resistivity ∼108–109Ωcm) were studied for suitability in time-of-flight (TOF) applications at high rates. These studies were performed using a continuous electron beam of 34MeV at the FZ Dresden–Rossendorf electron linac ELBE. Time resolutions of about 100ps and efficiencies larger than 95% were obtained for flux densities up to 20kHz/cm2.
