Investigation of the electrocatalytic behavior of halogenated acids at a (C70)2-p-tert-calix[8]arene chemically modified electrode

摘要
The (C70)2-p-tert-butylcalix[8] arene chemically modified electrode had two couples of redox reactions in mixed solvents of MeCN and water (2:3, volume fraction), corresponded to two- and four-electron transfer, respectively. The modified electrode was characterized by the scanning electron microscope and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Both the reduction steps of (C70)2-tert-butylcalix[8]arene exhibited catalytic activity towards the reduction of halogenated acid.
