Hydrodesulfurization performance of an ex-situ presulfided MoNiP/|Ã-Al2O3 hydrotreating catalyst

A series of ex-situ presulfided MoNiP/α-Al2O3 had been prepared, as to which the presulfiding agents with different composition were used, and studied. The composition of the presulfiding agent was fairly critical, of which the ratio of sulfur/tetraethylthiuram disulfide/dimethyl sulfoxide should be 6:2:2, and the total sulfur addition should be 1.4 times of stoichiometric proportion. The ex-situ presulfided catalyst activated at 300°C for 2 hr showed the best HDS performance that could approximate to the in-situ presulfided one.
