Detergency performance of Chinese gasoline

The Chinese commercial gasolines from different refineries with and without detergent additives were studied by M111 engine tests and vehicle tests. The detergency performance of Chinese commercial basic gasoline is better than CEC reference gasoline although the olefin content in some of them is between 30 and 35%. The most important effecting factor on intake valve deposit (IVD) is boiling point in fuels, and high-boiling fractions of fuel increase IVD formation tendency. Increase of the ratio of diesel/gasoline throughout China has made the gasoline lighter, thus, the detergency performance of Chinese gasoline becomes better. The ability of reforming process in China is weak and so aromatics content in gasoline is low.
