Value the economic effects of lost load in China based on supply-driven Input-Output model

Valuing the economic effects of power shortages can be used not only in setting economic reliability standards in power system planning, but also in electricity pricing and demand side management. This paper uses supply-driven input-output model to investigate the value of lost load of 29 sectors in the Chinese national economy based on the 1987,1990,1992,1995 comparable input-output tables and studies the changes of the values. The overall results reveal that the ratio of electricity input to the total input in various sectors shows gradual downward trend during 1987-1995. The influence and response degrees of electricity presents fluctuation change and the trend of spiral rises. Besides, the electricity's economic value shows a constant increasing tendency.
