摘要
In this paper, we consider the deployment problem of a sensor network for target surveillance based on acoustic energy measurements. The goal of the deployment is to ensure that every point of the sensor field where the target maybe at can achieve a given expected detection probability, and the number of sensor nodes needed to deploy should be as few as possible. A deployment strategy is proposed to solve this problem. First, an expected detection area of one sensor is determined under a constant false alarm, in which the detection probability is no less than the expected detection probability. Then a typical rhomb grid structure is employed to help deploy sensor nodes, and an improvement is made about the side length of the typical rhomb grid. Finally, the sensor field is divided into rhomb grids, and then sensors can be deployed on the vertexes of the rhomb grids. Simulations results showed that the deployment strategy is effective and the number of nodes needed to deploy for a sensor field can be reduced after the improvement. ©2010 IEEE.
