摘要

•CNP is critical to endochondral bone growth but its role in adult bone is unknown.•7days estrogen treatment increased CNP peptides in vertebral and iliac bone.•In contrast, bone tissue CNP was unaffected by 7days treatment with dexamethasone.•Bone CNP response may reflect endosteal osteoblastogenesis in E2 responsive tissues.
