Music-induced emotions can be predicted from a combination of brain activity and acoustic features.

•A combination of acoustic and neurophysiological features are used to attempt to predict music-induced emotion.•Significant prediction results are achieved.•These results are significantly better when a combination of features is used than either feature alone.•Features selected include alpha and beta band powers and mel-cepstral coefficients.
