Chinese herbal medicine for Henoch–Schönlein purpura in children without renal damage: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials

•CHM is widely used for children suffering Henoch–Schönlein purpura without renal damage in China.•Rigorous literature process, risk of bias assessment, meta-analysis and GRADE summary.•Moderate quality evidence supports the use of CHM for reducing renal damage and subsiding time of purpura.•Low or very low quality evidence supports the use of CHM for reducing subsiding time of joint and abdomen pain.•No reliable conclusion regarding safety is possible based on the data retrieved.
