摘要

•Graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) are fabricated by using pulsed laser irradiation in ethanol.•Successful transformation to GNRs is confirmed by TEM, XRD and Raman spectroscopy.•The transformation mechanism is explained based on the unzipping process.
