摘要

The DO detector is being upgraded in preparation for the next collider run at Fermilab. The Central Fiber Tracker discussed in this report is a major component of the DO upgrade. The expected Tevatron luminosity of 2x10(32)cm(-2)sec(-1), the 132ns bunch crossing time, and the DO detector constraints of a 2 Tesla solenoid and a 52 cm lever arm, make a scintillating fiber based tracker an optimal choice for the upgrade of the DO detector.
