Abstract
The effects of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on the performance and nanomechanical properties of organic solar cells were investigated. MWCNTs were well dispersed in the active layer. The root-mean-square roughness and optical absorption increased with increasing MWCNT content. The photoluminescence intensity decreased with increasing MWCNT content. The maximum efficiency, obtained with a 1 wt% MWCNT concentration, reached 2.88%; the efficiency without MWCNTs was only 2.21%. MWCNT doping not only improved efficiency, but also improved the nanomechanical properties of hybrid organic solar cells.
