Infrared Studies of the Bipolar Nebula OHO739
Astrophysics and Space Science LibraryMass Loss from Red Giants(1985)
Abstract
The M9 giant, OHO739 is embedded in a bipolar nebula, as evidenced by far-red photographs and OH maser studies (Cohen and Frogel 1977, Morris et al. 1982). It is a bright infrared source, whose spectrum shows deep 3.1 μm ice and 10μm silicate absorption. We have made infrared studies of this object with the aim of studying the structure and density distribution of the circumstellar disk. This paper presents some preliminary results of this study.
