OECD, Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals recommend the alga growth inhibition test, in ecotoxicological studies, for assesing the exposure. Regarding the Radon exposure as a toxic exposure, we try to observe the induced effects, as a consequence of alpha particle deposition, on our Chlamydomonas culture kept 10 minutes at 40 degrees C and relative humidity 70%, in our in vitro exposure system, when the Radon concentrations was 500 Bq/m(3) and 1000 Bq/m(3). Control sample follow the same exposure, but for a background Radon level of 48 Bq/m(3). The decrease of surviving rate has been observed, especially for 1000 Bq/m(3) scenarios. In this light, this test shoud be very good for study of environmental exposure into the thermal area.
