GeneralizedUstatistics for stratified random samples

Summary A generalized U statistic for the stratified random sample is defined and its variance is given in the case where random variables in each sample taken from a stratum are independently distributed within strata. Under suitable conditions its asymptotic normality is proved. Problems of sample allocation, asymtotically optimum stratification and estimation of functions of several parameters are studied.
