Comprensión de nociones sobre organización social con niños y adolescentes mexicanos de nivel socioeconómico bajo

The purpose was to identify some evolutive tendencies in the construction of childrens' representation of social organization with respect to the following social notions: wealthlpoverty, social stratification, social change and mobility, social autocharacterization, work, and social context and institutions. A semi-structured interview, guided by notions mentioned aboye, was given to 90 Mexican students, aged 6 to 15 years, from low socioeconomic level. Young children explained social organization through isolated, individualistic or single factors, characterizing social classes in terms of observable attributes (money and possessions). In middle childhood and adolescence, although individualistic explanations predominated, there was a gradual increase in explanations related to several interactive factors, as well as to the intervention of collective actions and social institutions.
