ANALYSE SPECTRALE COMPARATIVE DES CAPTEURS HRV ET TM

SUMMARYThe spectral signatures of various land uses recorded by TM and HR V sensors were compared under the Programme d'evaluation preliminaire de SPOT (PEPS). Since two HR V images were obtained, one from a vertical and the other from an oblique view, the influence of the viewing angle was also studied. In addition, bands specific to the TM sensor in land-use classification were also evaluated.Multispectral data for the Drummondville region, in Quebec, were collected on August 17, 1986, by the HRV sensor, from an oblique view (27°), on August 26, by the TM sensor, and on September 8, 1986, by the HRV sensor, from a vertical view (-1.8 °). The TM data were resampled at 20 m by using the nearest-neighbour algorithm so that they could be superposed on SPOT images.Training sites were selected for 23 land-use categories.
