摘要

•The proliferation marker Thymidine Kinase 1 (TK1) is overexpressed in mucle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) compared to benign urothelium.•The biological relevance of TK1 activity in MIBC is underlined by differential expression of TK1 mRNA in different subtypes of MIBC.•In contrast to other cancer entities, the predictive capability of TK1 protein expression is limited in the present cohort of patients with MIBC.
