Viewpoint matters: Exploring the involvement of reference frames in multiple object tracking from a developmental perspective

•Children of age 6 are already able to track multiple objects across viewpoint changes.•Children use scene-based reference frames for attentive tracking.•There were no differences in strategy used between different age groups.•We propose that scene-based reference frames are connected to global motion procession.
