397. Combination of Preoperative Gemcitabine/S-1 Chemotherapy and Aggressive Surgical Resection for Borderline or Initially Unresectable Locally Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

Background: Recently, the usefulness of combination therapy of gemcitabine and S-1, an oral fluoropyrimidine anticancer agent, (GS) for unresectable pancreatic cancer is reported with its high response rate. This indicates that preoperative GS might extend the indication of surgical resection for patients with initially borderline or unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
