Synthesis and electrochemical characterization of Li 1.1 Nb 0.9 O 2 − x as a novel active material for the negative electrode of lithium secondary batteries

摘要
An oxide, Li1.1Nb0.9O2−x, is proposed as a novel active material for the negative electrode of lithium secondary batteries. The material was selected by first principles calculation and its real properties as a negative electrode were measured after it is synthesized by solid state reactions. Lithium ions are inserted into the material at potentials <0.3V vs. Li/Li+. Its reversible capacity is ~120mAhg−1 after 50 cycles.
