Abstract
In this paper, we present a method for resource block allocation for the LTE uplink system. It aims to minimize the inter-cell interference and maximize the channel capacity. The genetic algorithm is used to come up with a solution in reasonable time. We exploit also information exchanged over the X 2 interface to calculate system performances. The genetic algorithm is employed in both centralized and decentralized ways. Numerical results show that the centralized and decentralized approaches increase the throughput by 37.48 Mbps/cluster and 73.78 Mbps/cluster, respectively, according to universal frequency reuse, when the bandwidth size equal to 20 MHz.
